10am Birds of Sydney Past and Present
Join Dr Holly Parsons as she takes you on a seated bird watchers tour through time. Learn about the
changes in urban bird populations and what we can do to conserve the birds still visiting our gardens.
11am Taronga Zoo Mobile – Australian Animals
Join educators from Taronga Zoo as they share their native animal knowledge and give you an opportunity
to meet their animal friends.
11:30am Native Garden Ponds
Learn how to create a beautiful pond in your own garden. Mark Abell will share his expertise on pond
design, native fish, water plants and some of the more unusual things you can keep in your pond.
12pm Sydney’s Frogs – Species of the present, past and future Author Marion Anstis is a legend among the frog-watching community. Her research and book Tadpoles of South-eastern Australia has set a new benchmark for taxonomic work. Join Marion as she shares her vast knowledge on what’s happening in the frog world.
1:15pm Native Plants ~ From the Garden to the Table
Indigenous educator John Lennis will be sharing his knowledge of native plants. He will be discussing their many uses in landscaping and in the kitchen. There will even be an opportunity to put your taste buds into action.
2:15pm Taronga Zoo Mobile – Australian Animals
An opportunity to join educators from Taronga Zoo as they share their native animal knowledge and give you an opportunity to meet their animal friends.
3pm A Birdstuffer’s Library Join Dr Joan Webb as she discusses her book about the life and times of the English explorer George Caley.
Special Presentations:
2:30 pm Join Walangari Karntawarra and Diramu Aboriginal Dance and Didgeridoo performers.
1:15 pm Sand Art Watch or join Elder Walangari Karntawarra complete a Sand Art piece
